Steven joined RWGC in February 1987 as Assistant Professional after playing on various Professional Tours. During 1992 he became Head Professional and his first job was to create a "golfing experience" within his shop as well as teaching service offering members and visitors an all round coaching experience, including the use of video analysis. Having survived the fire in 1994, he decided to expand the trading premises to a two tier Professional Shop which carries all the top brands in depth whether you are looking for Equipment, Clothing, Waterproofs or Footwear, we can boast about one of the largest selection in the South not to mention our own Ladies Shop. Custom fitting is a must, not only are all my Staff trained up by the various suppliers but we use Flight Scope for the fitting whether it be for Club or Ball, this is essential for all golfers.
Chris joined the team in August 2011, and has returned to Royal Winchester where he was formerly a member. Chris had a distinguished amateur career, including playing for Hampshire at all levels from the age of thirteen, securing a place in the final qualifier of the British Open at aged seventeen, and being joint course record holder at Royal Winchester and Alresford Golf Clubs. Chris turned professional in 2006.
Chris is a fully qualified PGA instructor, and for the last sixteen months he was the Professional at Newbury and Crookham Golf Club, where he developed an excellent reputation as a teacher and coach. During this time he provided a high standard of custom fitting and club repairs.
Chris is also a Plane Truth certified instructor, and is excited about introducing his expertise in this method to the Club.
Rupert joined the Professional Staff in May 2010. He was an Amateur member of Meon Valley GC and graduated from Brockenhurst College in 2010 having studied Golf Management. He is now pursuing a career in Professional Golf.
During his training he will be able to custom fit customers in all aspects of the game, assist in the running of the teaching academy and not to mention taking a few pounds off the members on the golf course!
Les joined the Professional Staff in 1994. He is a Life Member of Royal Winchester for his golfing achievements - not to mention his domination of the Club Championship during his three decades he was at the top of his game. A regular member of the Hampshire County side.
Jane's background is in fashion. She does all the buying for the Ladies Shop and certainly has a major say on the brands we stock for Gents. Jane is available for Ladies appointments if they wish to come along and be served by a Lady!
