ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Friday 20th October 2017
In accordance with Rules 30 and 40, nominations for Election of Members to the Management Committee and the Captain’s Committee shall be delivered in writing to the Club Manager not less than 29 days (Thursday 21st September 2017) before the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Friday, 20th October 2017.
There are two positions on the Management Committee:
Rob Newbold and Keith Bridgeman have both completed their terms. They are eligible to stand for a further three years should they wish to put their names forward for re-election.
There are four positions on the Captain’s Committee:
All four positions are available for 2018.
Nomination forms for all vacancies are available in the office; they can be emailed on request and should be completed and delivered to the Club Manager AT LEAST TWENTY-NINE DAYS BEFORE THE AGM (Thursday 21st September 2017).
Not less than 28 days before the Annual General Meeting the Club Manager shall post the list of candidates in alphabetical order on the Club notice board. Should the number of candidates so nominated be equal to or less than the number of vacancies, those candidates shall be duly appointed at the Annual General Meeting; each of the two Committees shall be empowered to fill any vacancy that remains unfilled. Should the number of candidates so nominated exceed the number of vacancies, those vacancies shall be filled by way of a ballot of the voting members of the Club, as follows:
a) In the 21-day period before the Annual General Meeting the Club Manager shall arrange and oversee the ballot of the voting members of the Club.
b) The result of the ballot shall be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
In the event of a tie the name of the successful candidate(s) shall be drawn by lot by the Captain chairing the Annual General Meeting.
In accordance with Rule 54, members are reminded that Notices of Motion must be received by the Club Manager AT LEAST FOURTEEN DAYS BEFORE THE AGM.
